Not Your Typical Love Story
Before We Met
Ramell started seeing Rajnesah around Auburn’s campus and greek events while visiting in 2005. It was almost movie-like, as he would see her from a distance drifting through crowds but couldn’t get close enough to introduce himself. Being a computer science major, he was intrigued by her line name “the net” and wondered about the connection.
We Finally Meet
It wasn’t until 2009 that they would meet face to face at a Kappa event in Tuskegee University. Ramell made sure he got the opportunity to speak with her, but she just smiled and kept it cordial all evening. The next time they would cross paths would be a week later at an outing near Toomer’s Corner in Auburn. Ramell was persistent in trying to grasp Rajnesah’s attention. So, he talked her ear off as she was leaving, as they went round and round in the revolving door of an exit. She finally decided to allow him to contact her on Facebook LOL, and he made sure to follow up. Rajnesah claims she has no memory of the revolving door, but Ramell has witnesses.
A Brief Relationship
After a brief relationship, we decided to just be friends. For the next 6 years, we would speak around holidays and birthdays mainly but not much more than that. It wasn’t until best friend Kelli decided she wanted to spend her 2016 birthday in NYC that things would pick back up.
We Reconnect
Rajnesah visited NYC in October 2016. The weekend was filled with Kelli’s birthday celebration, entertainment, and mini-dates getting to know the person we had each grown into over the last 6 years. They trusted this was God's plan and began to rekindle their relationship.
Here We Are
Ramell asked Kay to be his wife on the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center NYC) on 12/18/2018. They took some time to enjoy the evening around the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and then enjoyed a wonderful meal at Alto Paradiso. Although the pandemic slowed their plans of having a wedding, they were excited to be able to purchase a home in Los Angeles, during that period and continue to love, appreciate and admire each other daily.
